Our schools are extremely fortunate to have the support of our parent and community volunteers. While we are continually grateful for this support, we are also aware of the potential concerns that can arise when volunteers are working directly with students. In October of this past year, the district communicated with families that volunteers in the school and on any field trips will be required to have a background check on file with the school beginning on March 1, 2019.
If you have plans to volunteer or chaperone any upcoming field trip for your student(s) and you have not completed the application and received a successful background check result, please visit www.bwls.net and select "Volunteer Information" under the "Parents/Community" menu. The application should be filled out at least one week prior to a planned volunteer opportunity or field trip. Additional information on the background check requirement is also available on the website.
