COVID-19 Update - All Call 03/12/2020
All Call to Families - March 12, 2020

Good Evening Big Walnut Families, this is Angie Hamberg, your superintendent.

This afternoon, Governor DeWine announced that all Ohio school buildings will be closed to students from Tuesday, March 17 through April 3. Around that time, the governor will reassess.  In the meantime, Big Walnut Schools will remain open tomorrow and Monday, March 16.

Moving forward, we are cancelling or postponing all extracurricular events and activities.

We have been planning over the last few weeks for this possibility.  As of now, we plan to implement remote learning for the week after spring break, March 30-April 3.  Again, we will have a regular school day on Monday, March 16. Students should plan to stay home beginning March 17. We will work with our teachers over the next few days to finalize details and will provide an update soon on additional information.

If you have not already done so, it is IMPERATIVE that you sign up for building- and classroom- level Schoology groups as we will be using this platform for communication and online learning. Please visit our website for information and group codes.

If you do not have internet access, please call your school office by Monday, March 16 and let the secretary know as that information will be important for us in our planning.  Otherwise, in order to keep the phone lines open, please email questions that are directly related to the closure to [email protected], and we will get back to you as soon as we can.  Please see Schoology and our website for additional information. We will continue to update you as we learn more.
