About Big Walnut Local Schools

Welcome to Big Walnut Local Schools, home of the Golden Eagles - a thriving district located in eastern Delaware County, Ohio.

Formed in January of 1950 by legislative action of the Delaware County Board of Education, Big Walnut Local Schools is now home to more than 4,200 students in our PreK-12 programs, including our Early Learning Center, four elementary schools, Intermediate School, Middle School, and High School.

Our mission is to inspire and guide each student to his or her maximum potential. In order to achieve this mission, our district's academic vision is to personalize instruction, engage students, and grow minds as we emphasize the importance of creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration.
