Academic Achievement

The Department of Academic Achievement oversees three broad areas across the district, from pre-Kindergarten through 12th grade: Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment. Curriculum is what we want our students to know and be able to do, as well as the resources that we use to help students achieve those goals.  Our curriculum is aligned with state standards and our Eagle Profile.

Instruction is how we support students in learning.  This includes developing instructional philosophies on how students learn and grow within each subject and identifying and utilizing the instructional practices that are evidence-based and most effective.

Assessment is how we know if students are learning and growing.  We gather information through our state tests, benchmarking assessments, and classroom assessments.  We analyze that information to ensure students are making progress, connect them with support and extension opportunities, and identify areas of strength and opportunities for improvement for the district.
