Mental Health/Behavioral Services

MENTAL HEALTH/BEHAVIOR INTERVENTION

The Big Walnut School District provides Mental Health and Behavior Intervention Support Services that assist school personnel, parents and students in designing, implementing and monitoring behavior plans for students. A team of staff are trained in therapeutic crisis intervention (CPI) and located within each building. Trained staff help students deal with frustration, anger, hurt and problems both personal and academic. Mental health services within Big Walnut Local Schools provide clinicians who assesses and provide behavior strategies to use in the classroom, monitor/refine ongoing behavior interventions,  and provide individual/small group counseling which results in improved student achievement.

SYNTERO

The Delaware-Morrow Mental Health & Recovery Services Board is partnering with Syntero to provide a full-time clinician in each school district within their service area.  Syntero provides valuable support to at-risk school-aged children and adolescents exhibiting behaviors that indicate a need for therapeutic interventions and prevention services.  The specialized school-based team provides services designed to strengthen resiliency and coping skills, decrease disruptive behaviors, provide prevention and support for at-risk students, and increase classroom success.  Syntero does not provide any additional services, including sex education, to our students.
