Big Walnut Local School Restraint and Seclusion Complaint Process

Any parent of a child enrolled in the District may submit a written complaint to the Superintendent of Big Walnut Local Schools regarding an incident of restraint or seclusion.  The Superintendent shall investigate each written complaint and respond in writing to the parent's complaint within thirty (30) days of receipt of the complaint.  The Superintendent will make reasonable efforts to have an in-person follow-up meeting with the parent and any other team members the Superintendent deems necessary based on information gathered during the investigation.

If the parent is not satisfied with the response, they may request to meet with the Board in executive session to address the situation.

A parent may also file a complaint with one or more of the following public agencies:
