Eagle Extensions

Eagle Extensions is an enrichment program for all Big Walnut students currently in grades kindergarten - 6th grade.  Clubs will be filled on a first come, first served basis.  Clubs with fewer than 15 registered students will be cancelled.  Hometown ticketing will be used for all sign-ups and payment will be taken at the time of sign-up.

Big Walnut Intermediate


BW Cubers ($33)

Mondays, 2:20 - 3:20

Grades: 5th & 6th

Teacher: Mrs. Lyons


Whether you already know how to solve the Rubik’s cube or want to learn. This club is for you. Come learn the steps to solving the Rubik’s cube, or challenge other experienced Cubers to get faster. We will mostly be learning to solve the
3x3 cube but, will also have a few 2x2 and 4x4 cubes to learn. All participants will receive a t-shirt.

Sign Club ($32)

Mondays, 2:20 - 3:20

Grades: 6th

Have you ever thought about learning sign language? Then Sign Club is perfect for you! Did you know that American Sign Language (ASL) is the third most common language in the United States, after English and Spanish? We will learn how to sign the alphabet, numbers, common phrases, introductions, and more! If you are interested, please join the Sign Club!

Jewelry Making ($40)

Tuesdays, 2:20 - 3:20

Grades: 5th & 6th

Are you creative and love making jewelry? Then this is the club for you! You will be able to create earrings, necklaces, and bracelets from clay, shrinky dinks, glitter, stamped metal, wood, and more. If this sounds interesting to you, we would love to have you join the Jewelry Making Club.

Kind Eagles ($40)

Tuesdays, 2:20 - 3:20

Ready to make a difference? Join our mission to scatter kindness like confetti throughout our school and beyond. From crafting kindness clips to making blankets for children in the foster system, we'll collaborate on imaginative ways to extend warm welcomes, share positive messages, and foster new friendships. Get ready to soar with us and demonstrate how the spirit of Eagles can transform the world into a better,
brighter place!
To ensure that as many new students as possible can participate in the Kind Eagles, we kindly ask that this session be reserved for those who have not previously attended.
**On assigned Friday mornings, you’ll rock your t-shirt and welcome your fellow students to school. If you’re parent drop off, arrive at 7:15. If you’re a bus rider, come straight from the bus to join in.


Knitting Club ($23)

Tuesdays, 2:20 - 3:20

Do you enjoy doing crafts? Do you want to make a handmade present for your family and friends this holiday season? Do you like listening to Taylor Swift? If you answered yes to any of these questions then knitting club may be for you. Come hang out with Miss Pasquarette and learn the basics of knitting. Over the course of five weeks, we will learn all the basics and create our first projects together. This is an awesome opportunity to make new friends, enjoy good conversation, and learn a new skill.

BWIS Flyers ($40)

Wednesdays, 2:20 - 3:20

Grades: 5th & 6th

Come be a part of one of the fastest growing

sports in the world! 

As a member of the Flyers, participants will learn the basics of
throwing discs, scoring, and rules of Disc Golf as we play on the newly completed BWIS disc golf course. Participants will receive a good quality disc and a baseball cap

with the Flyers logo.

Just Dance ($21)

Wednesdays, 2:20 - 3:20

Grades: 5th & 6th

Do you like dancing and hanging out with your friends? Come learn some new dance moves and have a dance off as we play Just Dance.

BWI Pickelballers ($40)

Thursdays, 2:20 - 3:20

Grades: 5th & 6th

Teacher: Mr. Grieger


Have you taken an interest in pickleball? Come join the BWI pickleball club! Practice your skills, learn the game, compete with peers, and stay out of the “kitchen.” We plan to go outside as much as possible, so please dress warmly as it gets colder.
We will provide the equipment or bring your own if you have it. Also bring a water bottle and wear athletic shoes.
Pickleball is the real dill!

LEGO Club ($32)

If you love Legos then this is the club for you! We will be  creating with Legos and having competitions! Come join us for
some Lego fun!

Coding ($46)

Tuesdays, 3:30-4:30

Grades: K - 2nd

If you would like to learn the basics of coding then this is the club for you! We will be using different robots to code such as
the Sphero Indi! Come join us for some coding fun!

Coding with Mr. C ($20)

Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30

Grades: 2nd - 4th

Teacher: Mr. Clewell

In our time together, we will work on problem solving, creating and exploring the digital world of coding. In each hour-long session, we will be engaging our students into different creations and projects, from creating videos games to coding dance parties. We will be using Code.org, Codespark and Scratch during our sessions. Each of these are slightly different forms of the Blocky Coding language, an age appropriate coding language for elementary students.

Book/Comic Making ($22)

Have you ever dreamed of being an author or illustrator? Well
this is your chance to try it out! Come join the Book/Comic
Strip Making EE! We will be creating, designing, drawing, and
imagining whatever genre, storyline, or comic ideas you have!
Bring your creativity and great ideas and join me on Mondays!



Makerspace ($39)

If you love making and creating this is the club for you!  Come and create your own wind chimes, sew your own stocking, make a snow globe, or use random materials to create whatever you like!



Fall Fun Crafts & Activities ($37)

If you love to build, color, and create, this is the club for you!
Join us to participate in fun Fall themed crafts and activities!



Jewelry Making ($30)

Let’s make jewelry together! We will be exploring making
jewelry with yarn, clay, and wire as well as making our own
beads and charms. Every week will be a new material to try
your hand at creating something marvelous.


Fun Games in the Gym ($30)

Wednesdays, 3:30-4:30

Grades: 2nd - 4th

Teacher: Mrs. Grieger

Joining this club will guarantee an hour of friendly competition
while having fun & exercising. Students will be participating in
fitness games & activities such as: Capture the Cone, Swamp
Ball, Galaxy ball and other fun games.


Tasty Treats ($39)

Thursdays, 3:30-4:30

Grades: 1st - 4th

Teacher: Ms. Keller

If you love making your own tasty treats then this is the club for you!  We will spend two weeks exploring things you can make using waffle irons.  Then we will switch to making/decorating desserts for the last three weeks.  The tasty treats we will be making are: pizza sandwiches, cookies, breakfast sandwiches, cinnamon rolls, decorating cupcakes, cake pops, popcorn balls, banana split bites, and finally decorating cookies.  Students will receive and get to keep their own specially designer apron.
*** Food prepared during this Extension may contain the following ingredients: milk, eggs, peanuts, and/or tree nuts ***

Hylen Souders Elementary

Edible Art ($24)

Tuesdays, 3:30-4:30

Grades: 1st - 4th

Teacher: Mrs. Bludnick

Does your child love art? Does your child like snacks?
If so, this Eagle Extension is for you!
Flavor-filled fun and learning is our goal when we create EDIBLE art. Our activity will include both math and art concepts by following recipes, measuring ingredients and creating fun, edible, crafts such as Rainbow Toast (with edible paint) and Rice-Krispy “Monsters!” During our time together, snacks will be both created and eaten. We will have a combination of savory, sweet and fruity treats during our class. (Note: * While none of our treats include peanuts or tree nuts, I cannot guarantee ingredients will be from peanut free facilities.)
