BWMS Principal's Message
Big Walnut Middle School has a mission to Inspire and Guide each student to his or her maximum potential. We work to accomplish goal by striving for our BWLS 2020 Vision to personalize and engage student learning experiences to support student growth. Likewise, we desire for our students to SOAR into academic and personal growth at BWMS. Our guiding principles of SOAR include Scholarship, Ownership, Awareness and Respect. In addition, we utilize project-based and problem-based learning experiences to increase the 21st Century Skills of Communication, Collaboration, Creativity and Critical Thinking at BWMS. We are so excited for the 2022-23 school year and look forward to getting to meet all of you.

As a school community, we understand how important it is for families and the school to partner together. We encourage you to sign up for the BWMS Schoology Families Group which includes weekly announcements and to visit our website regularly to stay informed. If there is ever a need, please do not hesitate to contact me. We appreciate your support!

About the Principal:
I grew up in Wooster, OH and had the unique opportunity to have over 1,000 teenagers live in my home as my parents ran a children's home. While in high school I participated in football, wrestling and track and held a variety of part-time jobs. After high school, I attended Lipscomb University in Nashville, TN and graduated in 2001 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Biology Teaching. I completed my Masters of Science in Educational Administration through the University of Dayton in 2006.
I am now in my 22nd year in education, 15th year of educational leadership and excited for my 7th year as the Principal at Big Walnut Middle School. Before my current position, I served as a Biology Teacher at Marion Harding High School and an Assistant Principal at HHS and BWMS. In 2003, I was married to my wife Amanda (a Big Walnut graduate) and we have three children ages 15, 12, and 10 who attend school in the district. I really enjoy working with the students and staff within the Big Walnut Local Schools and strive for our #BWLS2020 Vision of Education: Personalize, Engage, Grow.

Mr. Josh Frame
