Dear GRE Families,

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year, it's going to be a great year at GRE! General Rosecrans is an awesome place to learn and grow!  Our primary goal is to inspire and guide our students to meet their maximum potential. To do so, GRE staff is committed to our culture of personalizing instruction, engaging learners and growing minds.

We teach and celebrate positive social and academic behavior through our Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) program. The guiding principles are: Be respectful, responsible, safe, and kind. These skills are taught, modeled, and reinforced in our daily interactions, common language, learning environments, and celebrations of student success.

Thank you for all you do to support your child(ren)'s success. This is an exciting time at Big Walnut, and we are so excited to welcome everyone back to school. “We are Team GRE”

Thank you for your continued support,

Ginna Crawford

About me:

I grew up in Mount Vernon, Ohio, then attended The Ohio State University where I received a Bachelors of Science in Early Childhood Education. I earned my Masters degree from Mount Vernon Nazarene University in Curriculum and Instruction. Finally, I completed my Principal Licensure program through Indiana Wesleyan University. I began my teaching career in East Knox Local Schools before coming to Big Walnut in 2010. I taught third grade at GRE. Prior to becoming a principal, I spent five years as an Instructional Facilitator at General Rosecrans Elementary and Hylen Souders Elementary. I also served as the district’s Virtual Learning Coordinator during the 2020-21 school year. I love teaching, learning, and having fun!

My own children attend Big Walnut schools and our family is proud to call Big Walnut home.

I love getting to know the students and families who make this community amazing!

Go Eagles!
